Alpha Female Contest – Outdoor Portrait Sessions

We had the pleasure of entering Sony’s Alpha Female Contest.  Where we were not one of the top 5 chosen out of thousands of applicants, we were extremely proud of the accomplishments achieved in such a short period of time.  It was certainly not without the help of many others.  We wanted to share some more of the images taken during our sessions of our chosen Alpha Females. 🙂  They were spectacular to work with, and willing to hop-on-board last minute to create some fun, new images for submission to the contest.  Congratulations to the top winners, it was not an easy application and any applicant that took the time to enter would have been so deserving of consideration!  Click here to view our video submission to the contest.

Don’t forget to leave these lovely ladies a comment so they know you stopped by! ♥

Michelle and I met for a special morning session on a farm in Louisville, Ohio.  We mostly utilized the working-barn that was on-site, but traveled outdoors when the rain wasn’t an issue.  The barn was a particularly cool location for this session . . . with different levels, lots of hay, live animals and stalls, and so much more, we had a lot to work with.  This location seemed to excite Michelle is a horse-lover, and quite familiar with “barn-life.”  We actually met years ago at Skyview Ranch Camp where she was a wrangler.  Michelle is also a woman (an Alpha woman!) of many traits.  She also enjoys WEIGHT LIFTING, shooting guns, and reading.  Take a look at this awesomeness:

Megan and Suri met me for a sunset photo session in Downtown Hartville, OH.  It was a dual-session as we were crunched for time with the application deadline approaching in only 4 days.  We started at the Hartville Elevator (which is SUPER cool inside, but unfortunately they closed at noon . . . another time!) and then wandered around from there, utilizing the various Historic pieces of Hartville that we could. These two were absolutely fantastic, and a joy to work with!

Megan is a mother of three beautiful children (whom like ice cream from the Hartville Chocolate Factory, I learned!).  She has a gorgeous singing voice and is involved in various ways in her home church at Maranatha Bible Church.

Suri is momma of one and serves in the missions field with her husband here in Ohio.  She is originally from Bolivia, but came to the states a few years back!

Matthew & Michelle’s Canton Wedding and Reception at The Onesto (Part 2) – Canton OH Photographers

Take a look at part 2 (see part 1 here) of Michelle & Matthew’s big day! Their ceremony was held at The Old Stone Chapel in Canton, with their reception to follow at The Onesto.  It was such a beautiful day for a wedding in downtown Canton.  As a wedding photographer, Michelle and Matthew are the best type of clients to have, and we were so honored to be a part of their day (Special thanks to Amanda Bucklew for her assistance the day of the wedding).

Cooley Family Portraits at Falls Riverfront Square – Northeast OH Photographers

The Cooley’s wanted some place unique and different for their session (which is right up our alley!), so we decided to take their family pictures at the Cuyahoga Falls Riverfront Square. We first met Paul and Kara at The Mother’s Nest, a family-based nonprofit intended on supporting families in various ways throughout Akron and surrounding areas, while Kara was pregnant with her youngest (see this little cutie below!)  Little S. is not so little anymore!  We always love having the chance to document families as they grow, because Heaven knows, the kiddos grow way too fast!  Take a look at a few pictures of this family of 4.

Michelle & Matthew’s Winter Engagement Pictures in North Canton OH – Northeast Ohio Photographers

Michelle and Matthew are seriously troopers!  Saturday we all bundled up for their winter engagement session in Hoover Park.  Michelle was originally hoping for flowers, but unfortunately Ohio’s unpredictable mother nature took a turn and offered us some snowy, 20 degree weather.  As we are primarily wedding photographers, it is so important for us to be able to adapt and adjust quickly to whatever is thrown our way, as wedding days are always unpredictable in nature.  Hoover Park has several different options for trees and shrubbery, so we intermixed some nature, aside from the snow, into their pictures.   Plus, all of our wedding clients have included in their package up to 3 Engagement Sessions, which can work perfectly for pictures in different seasons!

Our next stop (when we needed a few minutes in the car to warm up our frozen toes!) was Bitzer Park in Downtown North Canton.  Bitzer Park, although small, offers a mixture of brick & mortar, and “greenery.”  We only took a few shots at Bitzer since the sun was setting, and the temperature was ever decreasing.

Michelle and Matthew will be holding their wedding at The Old Stone Chapel in Canton, and will have their Reception at The Onesto.  Two very beautiful locations for pictures and a wedding! We are so looking forward to working more with this awesome couple come their wedding in May!

Here are a few of the pictures from their outdoor session.  Leave them some love in the comments below to let them know you stopped by!

Dee’s One Year Baby Pictures – Northeast Ohio Portrait Photographers

Little Dee is a sweet one-year old today, so we simply had to get some one year pictures taken to celebrate!  We also had the pleasure of being this sweet little one’s parents wedding photographers back in 2013 at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, OH (see their wedding day –here-).  All of my bridal clients are so very special to me, so it is extremely special to have the opportunity to continue photographing their families as they grow.  Dee is an absolute gem, take a look at this cutie-patootie.

Sabrina’s Senior Pictures in Kent OH – Northeast Ohio Senior Photographers

Sabrina is graduating from Bio-Med Science Academy in 2017!  She is also a part of Show Choir, and hopes to get involved with Music Therapy in the future.  Oftentimes clients choose Behr Photography when they want something artistic and different from the “norm.”  Sabrina wanted just that, something different from the ordinary high school senior portraits.   She mentioned that there is a senior photographer that everyone in her school typically goes to, but that she didn’t like their pictures, so that’s where we came in!  Since all of our clients are always extraordinary, we strive to make our portraits unique and stand out from what everyone else has!

We started our evening at Sabrina’s home, which had beautiful light pouring in from every window and fun and interesting architecture, and then headed to Downtown Kent for some pictures in Acorn Alley.

Take a look at a few of her senior portraits and leave a comment below so she knows you stopped by!

Megan & Greg’s Wedding in Cleveland OH (Part 2) – Cleveland OH Wedding Photographers

After the ceremony at St. Martin Tours Catholic Church in Valley City, the Bride, Groom & Bridal party traveled in style in their limo bus, Cleveland-bound.  Our initial plan was to stop at the Cleveland Public Library for wedding pictures, but since the rain was holding off (juuuust long enough) for us to grab some shots outdoors, we traveled first to our outdoor locations to take pictures at the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and Voinovich Park.  An absolutely gorgeous day, with temperatures on the rise (92 degrees!), we were so thankful for the breeze by the water.  We left a little bit of time to head back to the Cleveland Public Library, but unfortunately after ONE single shot inside the library, emergency alarms started sounding, and the entire library full of people were asked to exit the library.

So off to the reception hall we go at the Cleveland Airport Marriott to freshen up before the grand entrance and celebration!  As the last blog post mentioned (see part 1), A Bride’s DJ did a phenomenal job of keeping the party hopping, and, DJ Scott was apparently Michael Jackson in another life.  See some of the “Thrilling” images below to join in some of the fun from Megan & Greg’s special day!

Megan & Greg’s Wedding in Cleveland Ohio (Part 1) – Cleveland OH Wedding Photographers

Megan and Greg were married in Valley City, OH at the beautiful St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. We were expecting a rainy wedding day, but all of the rain held off and it ended up being a gorgeous sunny (but hot!) day for a wedding! We started off at Megan’s home with preparations, and met Greg over at the church for a few groom portraits before the ceremony. After the ceremony, the bride and groom decided they would like to have their wedding day pictures in Downtown Cleveland at The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Voinovich Park. The Reception was to follow at Cleveland Airport Marriott. A Bride’s DJ with DJ Scott kept the dance floor full, and surprised everyone with a specialty dance during the evening. Check back soon for Part 2 of Megan and Greg’s wedding day to see the rest of their fun day.

Alex’s Senior Portraits in Hartville Ohio – Hartville Ohio Photographers

This year Alex is a Senior at Lake High School and Hoover High School! He is a part of the soccer team at Lake and enjoys playing guitar, riding his skateboard, and wearing jackets :). Alex also really enjoys nature, so we started our senior session at Quail Hollow State Park in Hartville. The park was a buzz with other activities, including other senior pictures being taken, but Alex was confident that his images would be the best! 😀 We love that sort of confidence that our clients have in us! After grabbing a few pictures at the park, we headed to downtown Hartville to add a bit of variety to our backdrops. As a senior portrait photographer, I can honestly say that I love shooting on-location for this very reason. Having a session in a studio can oftentimes limit the creativity and variety of your images. We strive to make your images unique and fun, and having the great outdoors at our disposal is what helps us work our magic! The opportunities are endless. After snapping a few shots in downtown, and enjoying a bit of Alex’s mad guitar-skills, we popped over to Lake High School stadium to grab a soccer-related picture. Take a look at some of Alex’s Senior Year Pictures:
