This year Alex is a Senior at Lake High School and Hoover High School! He is a part of the soccer team at Lake and enjoys playing guitar, riding his skateboard, and wearing jackets :). Alex also really enjoys nature, so we started our senior session at Quail Hollow State Park in Hartville. The park was a buzz with other activities, including other senior pictures being taken, but Alex was confident that his images would be the best! 😀 We love that sort of confidence that our clients have in us! After grabbing a few pictures at the park, we headed to downtown Hartville to add a bit of variety to our backdrops. As a senior portrait photographer, I can honestly say that I love shooting on-location for this very reason. Having a session in a studio can oftentimes limit the creativity and variety of your images. We strive to make your images unique and fun, and having the great outdoors at our disposal is what helps us work our magic! The opportunities are endless. After snapping a few shots in downtown, and enjoying a bit of Alex’s mad guitar-skills, we popped over to Lake High School stadium to grab a soccer-related picture. Take a look at some of Alex’s Senior Year Pictures:

Take a look at this property going up for sale! We had the opportunity to provide our photography services for the owners of this beautiful home. When it comes to lighting the interior of real estate property, it can be extremely challenging. With every shot, we used four additional light sources (two off-camera flashes, and two ice lights) to bring each room to life. It required strategically bouncing light off of walls and flash benders to create light in the right places without blowing out the details of the room, or creating unwelcome shadows. Lighting rooms with windows is extremely important, as it gives the chance to show off the view to be seen out of each window. If the room is not properly lit, it will be too dark in comparison to the extremely bright light pouring into the room. In several instances in photography, it is not a great idea to have mixed lighting (e.g. flash – which carries a blue hue, overhead lights – which often have an orange hue). However, in real estate photography, oftentimes having small lamps or recessed ceiling lights lit will help add warmth and charm to the image. Opening doors adds character, lines, and helps the home to feel welcoming.
